Studio Underd0g, the British watchmaker known for its playful take on classic designs, has unveiled the second generation of its 02Series field watch. The new colors are achieved through a unique process. The 1mm-thick sapphire layer is tinted to create the desired hues, with a sunburst pattern etched into the layer below, resulting in changing reflections through the colored sapphire. This technique was first explored in the brand's collaboration with Fears on the Manhattan model.
Under the hood, the 02Series Gen2 boasts an upgraded Sellita SW200-2 M Power+ movement, replacing the previous Sellita SW210-1. This manually wound movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and now delivers an impressive 63-hour power reserve, up from the original 42 hours. Hacking seconds are retained for precise time setting.
The new leather straps by The Strap Tailor, available in various colors, complement the Gen2 update. Each color combination is tailored to the specific watch, ensuring a perfect match.
